Volunteer Work - Earth-bag Building
This project was designed and developed in Sketch-Up. They were different goals that the client wanted to accomplish; here are some:
Earth-bag construction - A low budget construction system to maximize the area with limited wall length.
Passive solar heating - Orientation and the shades study of Summer Solstice and Winter Solstice defined the roof overhang
Water Collection - A flat roof with a simple gutter helps collect the roof water into the on-site water tank.
Ventilation - Windows located at the North and South Facades help with the circulation inside the building, also cooling tubes where added in the upper part at the south facade to increase the natural ventilation inside the building.
Exterior Mechanical and Electrical closets - Suggested for battery storage, water pump, gas tank, etc.
