LEED Gold certification of a Toyota Delearship

LEED Gold certification of a Toyota Delearship

Project: Toyota Dealership the world’s first LEED Gold Certified.

Team member with Gensler Architects

As part of the architect team I worked closely with the owner, the design team and the contractor to designed the world’s first LEED Gold dealership

Some of the features that contribute to the LEED Gold certification are: The collection of rain water, for use in irrigation and car wash. Reduction of HVAC impact treating the building envelop with deciduous climbing vines that help reduce direct sunlight on warmer months and leave the concrete mass exposed on cold weather.

The service bays were designed to provide an enhanced work environment for the technicians who are often relegated to a dark and poorly considered space. The project utilized light shelves and acoustical lay-in ceiling to bounce light into the interior space. The use of the ceiling allowed a significant reduction in HVAC tonnage and contribute to the energy efficiency of the building.

In this project I was part of the Architectural team. My involvement was production of the construction documents, LEED documentation and coordinate/ clarify intentions details with the Construction Administration team.

Responsibilities included the production of construction documents, assisting in the coordination with other disciplines (MEP, structural, landscape, civil engineer, and general contractor)
